Old Turn Junction - Canal Feature in the City Centre

Old Turn Junction is where the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal starts off the Birmingham Mainline Canal. It is by the Utilita Arena Birmingham, The Malt House and Brindleyplace.


Old Turn Junction, also called Deep Cutting Junction is where the Birmingham Canal Navigations Mainline joins onto the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal. The BCN built in the late 1760s with the Newhall Branch by 1772. The Birmingham & Fazeley Canal was built by 1798. the Oozells Street Loop also connects to the junction (was the last loop of the BCN Old Mainline). The roundabout island was installed during World War II. The fingerpost was added in 1983 under the BCN Society. Near The Malt House and Utilita Arena Birmingham
