In brief

A police station in Acocks Green, built in 1909 for Yardley Rural District Council and the Worcestershire Police. It included a Courthouse. West Midlands Police took over the building from 1974. Mostly in use until 2018. The building has been Grade II listed since 2019.

Acocks Green Police Station - history

It was built on the Yardley Road in Acocks Green for the Yardley Rural District Council in 1909.

In it's early years it would be used by the Worcestershire Police.

After the Acocks Green and Yardley areas became part of Birmingham in 1911, it was taken over by Birmingham City Council and the Birmingham City Police.

When the West Midlands County was formed in 1974, it became part of the West Midlands Police.
