In brief

Grade II* listed building. 1909-26, by W.H. Bidlake. Nave and aisles were built before 1914; chancel completed by 1926. Planned crossing tower and transepts not executed. Lady chapel and halls added 1967.

Emmanuel Church - history

The land was donated by Emmanuel College in Cambridge.

It was built in 1909 by the famous architect W.H. Bidlake.

The High Altar is a fine example of an English Altar.

The Reredos has three panels each which depicts a scene of the Incarnation.

Two organs in Emmanuel.

The West End is a Willis Organ dating fromt the 1930's.

The East End organ is completely new.

The Lady Chapel is in the 1960's style.
