British Oak Stirchley - history

A public house originally built in the Stirchley area of Birmingham for the Mitchells and Butlers brewery.

Designed by James and Lister Lea, and was built from 1923 to 1924.

Built of red brick with Flemish bond, in the 17th century  Domestic Revival style.

There is also a garden loggia at the pub.

It was Grade II listed in February 1997.

As of 2023, there is new buildings going up near the pub for the Stirchley Co-operative.

There is also new houses nearby, and an ALDi store opened, some new retail units haven't been let yet,

The pub is on the no 45 and 47 bus routes, with a bus stop outside on Hazelwell Street.
