Trams in Birmingham & West Midlands is a community-led initiative that engages and involves the people of Birmingham. It is hosted by BirminghamWeAre, a Community of Passion that gives People with Passion access to YourPlaceYourSpace engagement tools for taking their passion to the next level.

This is one of over 30 community-led passions hosted at BirminghamWeAre and supported by FreeTimePays, a digital platform and social media channel for people and communities who want to make a difference, help deliver social and economic impact and build Communities of Passion.

BirminghamWeAre.com is a digital 'shout out' space for people to promote their passion, connect with people who share their passion and gain access to a suite of engagement tools for taking their passion to the next level.

It is also a digital space where people, business and service providers can collaborate, plan and take ideas and initiatives forward.

Here's how it all started!

In 2015, BirminghamWeAre set up an account on twitter to keep the people of Birmingham updated on a new impact focused digital space and engagement portal being built (at that time) by YourPlaceYourSpace for people who are passionate about making a difference and creating a positive impact.

In just a couple of years, the reach of, and interest in, BirminghamWeAre has grown significantly. For example, over 0.7 million impressions is now typically achieved every month by BirminghamWeAre through social media.

However, as well as a shared passion for Birmingham, many followers of BirminghamWeAre are keen to get involved and contribute further. These are people who want to make a difference, whether for themselves, through their jobs or for others in their community. We refer to these people as People with Passion.

Due to the significant interest shown by the people of Birmingham, and as a way of helping people take their passions to the next level, BirminghamWeAre.com was established as the first Community of Passion by YourPlaceYourSpace in 2017.

Communities of Passion are now being established in every neighbourhood and a full roll-out of YourPlaceYourSpace is now planned across the West Midlands region from 2018 onwards.

FreeTimePays is an impact focused digital platform and social media channel specifically for people who want to make a difference and help create a positive social and economic impact.

FreeTimePays is the social media of choice for 'People with Passion'.

With the help of FreeTimePays, we have built a thriving and effective Community of Passion for Birmingham. As already mentioned, work on rolling out YourPlaceYourSpace into the region and into the neighbourhoods, building inter-connected Communities of Passion, has already commenced. 

We will continue to promote Community, engage 'People with Passion' and deliver results!
