HOTEL & STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
12 Calthorpe Road is to be repositioned to create two independent buildings comprising student accommodation & a hotel.
The site is currently joined vertically by a small link, which will be removed, along with their respective roofs and new upward extensions added, enabling both to flourish separately.
The 1962-designed, 11-storey former office block will be repurposed into 266 student bed spaces – 170 studios & 96 en-suites – complete with a new two-storey upward extension.
Facilities will include a sky lounge, virtual training room, multimedia lounge, gym space, laundry, parcel store, study spaces, and games & cinema rooms.
The smaller block will become a hotel with a new upward extension and a 120-cover restaurant pavilion to Calthorpe Road.
