FORMER SAINSBURY'S SITE
The former Sainsbury’s site's retail centre is to be revitalised with a community-led regeneration.
Plans include 836 beds of student accommodation across two new builds of five and six storeys, with c.34K SF of new retail and commercial space across a reactivated Bristol Street, including a large medical facility for the local community.
Boosting the site’s connectivity will be four public amenity areas with a public realm and plaza space, a retained Selly Oak tree, and a centralised link street.
Accommodating 364 en-suite clusters (4–8 bedrooms) & 472 studios (17.7 – 47 sqm), students will also benefit from a gym, cinema, study room, wellness area, and lounge, in addition to small, private courtyards and roof terraces.
There will be 34 car parking spaces for the medical centre, with four disabled student bays, three loading bays, and 472 cycle spaces.
