The school was actually built in February 1972 and is named after the famous Scottish engineer James Watt, whose factory was located near the school site. James Watt was an engineer, an inventor, and scientist. As a practical problem-solver, he had big ideas and brought these to life and made a huge difference for the people of Birmingham.
